No confusion: how to master the WSET D3 tasting
In the practical examination for the WSET Diploma D3 (Wines of the World), you have 6 wines per flight in front of you. These are listed on a sheet with numbered boxes. As it is important to compare the wines with each other, it can easily happen that you mix up the glasses and no longer know which numbered field the respective glass was in. This is particularly likely to happen if the wines are similar in colour, for example if they are from the same grape variety.
A simple solution to this problem is to number the glasses on the base with a non-permanent foil marker, such as one from Edding. This numbering can be easily washed off again. Simply use the same numbering that is given on the sheet. This will ensure that you don’t mix up the glasses. You can then compare the wines if you like, and find differences and similarities more easily.
