About me - Werder to Wine
As a passionate wine expert with a WSET Diploma in Wines, I have taken my love of wine and my in-depth knowledge of viticulture and winemaking to a professional level. My experience from winery internships and numerous wine events has given me the opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding of the art of winemaking.
As a certified WSET Level 3 teacher, I bring this expertise to my coaching sessions.
As a qualified librarian, I combine my love of wine with my passion for books, particularly specialist wine literature. This deep understanding and the ability to grasp complex relationships reflects in my work and further training.
My passion for wine and my motivation to constantly improve and learn new things really helped me to successfully complete the WSET Diploma in Wines in English. As part of this training, I was able to expand my knowledge of viticulture, winemaking, the different wine regions, and, above all, wine tasting. I also successfully completed WSET’s Educator Training Programme (ETP) in London in 2022.
I am now officially authorized to teach up to WSET Level 3 and understand what WSET considers important for successfully passing the WSET course exams. I also took part in one of the first WSET Level 4 (Diploma) Educator training courses in autumn of 2022. This knowledge enhances my training programmes to optimally prepare you for your exam.
I have been able to apply and deepen my theoretical knowledge during a longer internship at a winery.
Through various visits to wineries, wine fairs and wine masterclasses, I have made contacts in the wine world and have also been able to taste a large number of wines and thus significantly expand my inner wine library.
In this way, I can provide you with optimal support when selecting wines for your tasting.
As a librarian, my passion is not only for wine, but also for books – especially wine books. I am an avid reader of specialist books on viticulture, winemaking, and wine tasting. It is important to me to constantly expand and update my specialist knowledge and to understand complex relationships in their entirety. The research skills I learned as a librarian during my studies have enabled me to use a wide range of sources to obtain information – from databases to digital archives.
In this way I can support you in your further education with up-to-date tips – from specialist books to podcasts.
My many years of successful experience as a self-employed online retailer means I have learned to think strategically and act responsibly. My primary goal has always been absolute customer satisfaction. And that is why your success is particularly important to me.
My self-employment gave me a financial base to fulfil my long-cherished dream: to have my wine knowledge certified by successfully completing one of the most demanding training courses in the wine world – the WSET Diploma.
In my private life, I am a passionate wine collector and am always delighted when I can track down and buy special wines. I am fascinated by scarce and rare wines from all over the world, especially the history and origin of these wines, the winemaker’s philosophy, and the terroir within which the vines were grown.
Riesling and Pinot Noir are my favourite wine varieties; for me, these two grape varieties are among the noblest in the wine world. I particularly enjoy drinking mature wines from these two grape varieties.
I like to pair special wines with the perfect home-cooked meal – and enjoy them with friends.
